What is the whole "barefoot" thing about?  For me, being barefoot is the most humbling and most connective way to interact in my environment.  There is no gentler way to tread this Earth!

My eco-based lifestyle started over 15 years ago.  My mother-in-law (Hi Rosie) was the ultimate urban hippie.  She was the first one to introduce me to composting and recycling.  But, if I really wanted to be exact, it has been longer than 15 years since I started my journey.  My parents were both amazing at making do with what they had.  Even if they had a little more, they always maintained  that idea of making do with what you have.  That is something that has stuck with me my whole life.  My mother taught me how to sew when I was a girl and it is still a vital part of my lifestyle today.  My father always had some type of garden or fruit tree growing in the yard.  And they both could make or build something out of absolutly NOTHING!  I have fond memories of my mother and my grandmother canning vegetables from their garden or from what they bought from local farmers in the area.  These humble memories somehow burned their way into my mind and my heart as a way of life that I was comfortable with.  I am happy to be able to share my growing love and knowledge with my family and with you...It is just was I was ment to do.  Awareness is the first step, choosing your part is the second.
